Tony Palombino's latest venture, Manny & Merle, is set to open on Nov. 15. The Whiskey Row spot will combine modern Mexican street fare, live honky tonk and rockabilly music and cocktails with a Bakersfield, Calif.-inspired atmosphere. Manny & Merle will be located at 122 W. Main St., formerly home to Harley's House of Blues and, before that, Zena's Cafe. Palombino (he might be Italian) also founded BoomBooz and AP Crafters Kitchen & Bar.
Manny & Merle's grand opening will be a Louisville Voice-Tribune Third Thursday After-Work Party. To be a VIP guest, just select Join on the event's Facebook page. (Seriously, that's all it takes to be a VIP at a Voice-Tribune event? Even an Okie from Muskogee could pull that off.) And because when you think Mexican food, you think bourbon (well, in Louisville you do), Larceny Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey will have its Louisville launch at the party.
