Seems lack of a permit for "one dumb little hand sink" is the only thing keeping La Peche Gourmet to Go and Cafe closed, chef and owner Kathy Cary tells Eater. "We were supposed to open on Friday [Oct. 18]," said the "extremely frustrated" Cary. Seems the sink-installing plumbers need permit approval in Louisville and Frankfort, and only then can Cary call in Metro Health for final inspection—but her plumbers have been hard to get hold of. "I'm about to go down there in person and have a raging fit in front of them," she said.
Cary promises that as soon as the communication/certification crisis has passed, the cafe will open quickly. "I have the equipment, staff...there's stuff in the freezers. We are so ready!"
