DOWNTOWN—In honor of USA Today and 10 Best naming it the third best hotel bar in the United States, Proof on Main is hosting a Show the Proof Party Oct 9, 6-8 p.m. with half-priced cocktails. In addition, send your favorite Proof story or photo to elardner@proofonmain.com and you'll be entered in a contest to have a cocktail named after yourself. Of course, if any of these stories involve waking up after a night at Proof with flakes of gold spray paint plastered to your crotch and burping out plastic red penguin feathers, please cc Louisville@eater.com too. OLD LOUISVILLE AND DOWNTOWN—Not to be confused with the time the stoned guy down the hall cooked his entire carton of ramen at once and then offered you some while he passed out with his hot plate still on, 610 Magnolia and MilkWood are hosting pop-up ramen restaurants. On Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m., chef Sarah Gavigan, of Nashville's Otaku South, will join Edward Lee to transform 610 Magnolia's Wine Studio into a traditional Japanese Izakaya (the means gastropub). The three-course meal is $48, reservations at 502-636-0783. The following day from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Gavigan will convert MilkWood into a ramen shop, serving bowls at $12 and up. Reservations suggested, 502- 584-6455. Bring your own beard bowl. [EaterWire]
