The Kentucky International Convention Center's Wolfgang Puck Express will close at the end of this year, to be "replaced by another, faster service restaurant," says Clifford "Rip" Rippetoe, president/CEO of the Kentucky State Fair Board. Rippetoe added the new occupant of the space "will not be a franchise," as part of the decision to close was based on a pricey franchising agreement with WPE concept owner Centerplate, Inc. that "erodes any chance for any kind of profit."
