As is the tradition at Eater, our closeout of the year is a survey of friends, industry types and bloggers. This year we asked the group eight questions, from Meal of the Year to Top Newcomers. Responses are related in no particular order; no responses were coaxed or changed. Readers, please do add your survey answers in the comments, or send us an email.
Q: What restaurant was your top newcomer of 2013?
Allen Button, retired restaurateur/active attorney: I can't say I have a top newcomer as I don't think I ate at any new place, other than Quattro during Bim's momentary stint there. That ended poorly.
Damaris Phillips, Food Network Star: Wiltshire Bakery, I love the croissants!!
Lindsey McClave, "Foodie Girl": El Camino
Bim Deitrich, local restaurant legend/national restaurant consultant: Milkwood. I had two great meals there.
Dan Dry, Senior VP/Chief Visual Officer, Power Creative: Milkwood
Zach Everson, Travel news/travel buzz editor at MapQuest: Milkwood (but bring back the two-day slow cook veal)
Ruth Coleman, lawyer/world traveler/woman-about-town: Mussel & Burger Bar
Kevin Harned, Chief Meteorologist WAVE-3 and co-host, Secrets of Louisville Chefs Live: Mussel & Burger Bar
Steve Hacker, Eater Editor: Milkwood
