Friends Of Eater Describe Their Best Meal Of 2013

As is the tradition at Eater, our closeout of the year is a survey of friends, industry types and bloggers. This year we asked the group eight questions, from Meal of the Year to Top Newcomers. Responses are related in no particular order; no responses were coaxed or changed. Readers, please do add your survey answers in the comments, or send us an email.

Q: What was your best meal of 2013?

Damaris Phillips, Food Network Star: I had a beautiful meal at Seviche this fall. I remember walking to my car smiling and full. However, the club sandwich at Morris' deli, enjoyed in my car is a close second. I am not a fancy girl.

Lindsey McClave, "Foodie Girl": Rye's Wheelbarrow to Table dinner at Foxhollow Farm.

Allen Button, retired restaurateur/active attorney: Italy, any place…or the food at Decca one night in July.

Dan Dry, Senior VP/Chief Visual Officer, Power Creative: James Beard re-creation dinner at Volare.

Zach Everson, Travel news/travel buzz editor at MapQuest: Date at Proof on Main with my wife and my parents visiting from Boston.

Bim Deitrich, local restaurant legend/national restaurant consultant: Ordinary, Upper King Street, Charleston.

Kevin Harned, Chief Meteorologist WAVE-3 and co-host, Secrets of Louisville Chefs Live: Josh Moore's home grown James Beard dinner [at Volare].
