One week in, the Eater Young Guns 2013 already received more than 1,400 nominations. But like a customer at the Paula Deen Buffet, we want more—and nominations close this Friday. Young Guns launched last year with the inaugural 16-person class. The idea is to identify the most promising up-and-comers in the restaurant and nightlife world, whether they're chefs or line cooks, sommeliers or bartenders, restaurateurs or maître d's.
Nominees must be under 30 years of age (or have worked in their field for fewer than five years) and must be currently employed in the hospitality industry in the United States. Though you most likely haven't yet heard their names, they show extraordinary promise. These kids are the future, those that will soon lead the business but have yet to receive critical attention.
So, know an amazing young somm, an empire builder in the making, a burgeoning chef's chef? Nominate them here. If you have additional supporting materials, please send them our way at firstname.lastname@example.org. This nomination process will close March 15, so get cracking.
The official Young Guns Selection Committee—including Louisville's Edward Lee—was announced last week. Read the full list, from Andrés to Zimmern, at Eater National.
