The Bourbon Classic 2013, this Friday and Saturday at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, "explores the 'best of the best' in the authentic world of bourbon, from the craftsmanship of distilling to the pure enjoyment of the spirit in its many forms." (That's gotta be one of the nicest ways of saying "getting snookered.") Tickets are still available.
If a full two days of bourbon isn't enough for you (a safe bet for many Eater readers), these Downtown restaurants are offering more bourbon-fueled fun.
·Marking possibly the first time ever an official Louisville after-party was held at a place other than Prime Lounge, MilkWood's the sanctioned spot for post-Bourbon Classic fun tonight. Join Chef Kevin Ashworth from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for late night treats, "cocktails and good times!"
·Proof on Main is featuring two special bourbon cocktails along with its new brunch menu to help you recoup from, um, late-night study sessions. Its Chuck & Mary (think Bloody Mary but better) is going to include bourbon and the Bardstown Bellini will set you right with bourbon, peach vanilla syrup, orange juice and angostura bitters.
·St. Charles Exchange is hosting the Bourbon Brawl Sunday from 7-10 p.m. Billed as "North America's ultimate bourbon and bartender showdown. Bartenders will be judged on presence, precision and speed in this beverage version of a bare knuckle fist fight." Admission is $7, hors d'oeuvers are included.
