Following up on a Tweet yesterday announcing Meat's temporary closing, the Butchertown bar's website is about to be updated with the following message:
Meat would like to apologize in advance to our loyal patrons as we and our downstairs neighbors [The Blind Pig] make some behind-the-scenes changes over the coming weeks. These activities have required us to close temporarily, but it is our goal to re-open as soon as possible with new energy to serve our guests, whom we consider part of our extended family. Thank you for your support during this transitional period.
UPDATE April 10, 5:15 p.m.: Meat Owner: Liquor License Dispute With Blind Pig Behind Temporary Closure
Reached earlier today via email, when asked about Meat's closing, owner Peyton Ray offered this insight:
Meat will be closed indefinitely to deal with some organizational issues, but we fully plan to be up and running as new in the not-too-distant future. It is most definitely our intention to re-open.
