St. Charles Exchange just hired Mark Ford as its new executive chef. Ford will begin around the end of June.
The downtown restaurant and bar lost two executive chefs in less than a month after Tyler Powell left for the Silver Dollar just three weeks after replacing Patrick McCandless.
Ford had been the sous chef at Louisville Country Club under Daniel Stage. Previously he worked at the now-closed L & N Wine Bar as well as Z's Fusion. In 2013, Ford won the BBQ Battle sponsored by Louisville Hot Bytes.
The 27-year-old Ford studied culinary arts at Sullivan University and was a 2004 graduate of Springboro High School in Ohio, per his Facebook profile.
Eater Louisville first learned of the hiring via a tip, which was later confirmed with St. Charles Exchange's publicists. A message was sent to Ford via Facebook at 4:03 p.m. asking for comment (and a photo). This article will be updated should he respond.
