From the Wood Fest
When: Saturday and Sunday, 1 p.m.
Where: Holy Grale (1034 Bardstown Rd.)
What: Holy Grale's first mini barrel-aged beer festival, From the Wood Fest, is featuring collections from The Zymatore Project (from B. United Intl'), Bourbon Barrel-Aged Beers and Single Barrel-Aged Beers. Chef Josh Lehman has created a menu to pair with the different barrels featured, suggestions can be found on the From the Wood Fest menu.
Live Taping of The Bourbon Lounge
When: Saturday, 12-3 p.m.
Where: The Old Seelbach Bar (500 S. 4th St.)
What: At this week's live taping of The Bourbon Lounge, Tom Schiller from RISKY? WHISKY will teach audience members how to barrel their own bourbon. Seating is limited and doors will be open at 11:30 a.m. You must be 21 or older to attend this free event.
Flavors of Woodford Reserve: Woodford Reserve and Global Cheeses
When: Saturday, 1-4 p.m.
Where: Woodford Reserve Distillery (7855 McCracken Pike, Versailles)
What: Here in Kentucky, we know everything pairs well with bourbon. At Flavors of Woodford Reserve: Woodford Reserve and Global Cheeses, the distiller is "hand selecting a dozen artisan cheeses from around the world and paring them with Maker's MarkWoodford Reserve, fresh fruits, local honey, toasted nuts, our own rye crackers and sour mash beer bread." Food Network Star Viewing Party
When: Sunday, 8-11 p.m. (show airs at 9 p.m.)
Where: Molly Malone's Irish Pub & Restaurant (933 Baxter Ave.)
What: Watch Louisville's Damaris Phillips compete for her own show on Food Network Star. The viewing party will be on the top deck at Molly Malone's—last week saw a packed house for the season premier, in which that judge with all the teeth said Phillips's potato salad was her favorite dish. There'll be viewing parties for as long as Phillips is on the show.
