"Bizarre Foods Louisville: Bourbon & Burgoo" with Andrew Zimmern premiered last night on the Travel Channel. About 75 people gathered at Garage Bar to celebrate the debut with complimentary snacks from Proof on Main's Levon Wallace and Garage Bar's Michael Paley, as well as food and drink specials including items Andrew Zimmern ordered during filming. The episode's segments included
·hunting and a game dinner at 610 Magnolia with chef/owner Edward Lee
· a tour of beverage development company Flavorman, that resembled high school chemistry class a bit too much and made for a good opportunity to order another one of Garage Bar's special Italian Manhattans featuring Woodford Reserve.
·squirrel hunting and cooking burgoo with Tim Farmer, the handsome host of Kentucky Afield and Tim Farmer's Country Kitchen (did you see 'em skin that squirrel?)
·making mutton BBQ at Moonlite Bar-B-Q Inn and Old Hickory
·making soy sauce with Bourbon Barrel Foods
·sampling ham at Morris's Deli, ham at Garage Bar and hog brains at Proof on Main
