A lawsuit filed Monday in Jefferson Circuit Court accuses Peyton Ray of inappropriately taking money while managing Meat, the bar located above now-shuttered The Blind Pig. According to the suit, Ray wrote checks to himself, used the bar's business debit card and took cash from drawers for personal use. Reached Tuesday by WDRB, Ray said he hadn't seen the lawsuit and would have no comment. Naming Charles Peyton Ray III of Louisville and the company that owns the building, SP Holdings (which, according to Blind Pig attorney appears to be controlled by Ray), the suit asks for unspecified damages to be determined at a jury trial.
