Since it opened in 1996, Mayan Café has seen many changes on what used to be called "East Market Street." Unsatisfied with simply being one of the rocks upon which "Nulu" was built, the restaurant has decided to do a bit more this March. "We wanted to create a sort of tribute to this amazing area that has grown up around us and all of the cool people that live close by," Mayan Café partner Anne Shadle told Eater via email. Starting the first Wednesday in March, Mayan Café will offer taco and sangria specials on each Wednesday from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Mayan Café's website promises NuLu Neighborhood Night will be "nothing too crazy, nothing too fancy. Just a few hours set aside to chill out with the good folks that make up this outstanding neighborhood."
