"It's a pretty big stretch from street food to sea urchin," says Fernando Martinez about his team's tandem work on opening Taco Luchador and soon The Place Downstairs, the new restaurant located underneath Mussel & Burger Bar where he'll be working with Chef Ethan Ray. Martinez says he will be presenting dishes that, while not exactly "fine dining," are "a little more high-end than what we've done so far."
Eater has yet to receive a dessert menu from The Place Downstairs, but the restaurant did provide its "Small Plates," "Jars" and "Entree" dishes planned for the opening. "Ethan and I are really excited," says Martinez. "We're going to be putting out pretty cool food, and I think people are going to be pretty happy and impressed with what we're doing down here."
