Property owner Tom Payette told Eater the new Feast BBQ in NuLu may soon have an appropriate neighbor, as a "16-barrel microbrewery" is negotiating a lease for the 5000 square foot space next to the former Hausman truck dealership slated to become the newest outpost of Ryan Rogers' BBQ restaurant. While Payette did not disclose who the possible brewer tenants might be, he did tell Eater that Rogers was "delighted" that a brewery might be moving in next to his BBQ restaurant.
Payette said he and Rogers have been haggling over the Market Street space for several months. "I put the [For Lease] sign up New Year's Day," he said, "and that evening, we got together." Payette told Eater Rogers was taking an additional 1500 square feet of space in addition to the 2500 occupied by the former Cake Flour, and agreed with Rogers' assesment shared with Eater that the space "is going to need an extensive amount of rehab." Payette also said the building, constructed as a truck dealership in 1926, could possibly allow for a rooftop dining area because "that roof is 12 inches of poured concrete. It was designed to put trucks up there."
