Eater friends Alison Roman, Senior Associate Food Editor for Bon Appétit Magazine, and Associate PR Director Dan Aldworth, were in town for Derby, escorting "Urban Western" Texas chef Tim Love (Love Shack, Lonesome Dove Western Bistro) around Louisville. Along with Seviche's Anthony Lamas, Love was one of the chefs cooking at "Taste of Derby," but the Bon Appétit folk also found several other places to eat while in town. They included a late dinner at Jack Fry's, a Longines dinner event at 21c overseen by Proof on Main's Levon Wallace and a dinner at Edward Lee's Milkwood. Roman, who develops, tests and writes about recipes for the magazine, gave Instagram shout-outs to a "sweet angel selling sausage biscuits on his front lawn" who "saved our lives" on Oaks Day and to the nice folks at Cook N Company for post-Derby fare.
