Milkwood Promises "Cool Dark Place" For Hot Weather Drinking

Ed Lee (610 Magnolia, Milkwood) wants everyone to "get outta the summer heat" and spend happy hour in a "cool dark place!" All summer, Tuesdays through Fridays from 5 to 6:30, Milkwood, in the basement at Actors Theater of Louisville, will be hosting happy hour including $4 specials for cocktails and bourbon and a $3 "Wine of the Week." This week's cocktail is the "Black Tie Only," a variation on the Blackberry Bramble made with a blackberry-Thai basil syrup, fresh lemon and white whiskey. The featured bourbon is Larceny, which Lee says can be chilled down with some ice without losing any of its intensity—certainly helpful when it's 92° outside.
