Two upcoming events are bringing area chefs and restaurants together for good works (and good food). APRON, an industry organization that helps restaurant workers experiencing financial distress due to illness, injury or other issues, will be hosting a Disco Ball Wednesday June 4, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Folks can show off "fabulous 70's fashions" while enjoying "tastings from Louisville's finest restaurants" including Seviche, The Monkey Wrench, The Silver Dollar, Loop 22, El Camino and more. On Sunday, June 8, chefs Annie Pettry of Decca, Anthony Lamas of Seviche, Levon Wallace of Proof on Main and Tyler Morris of Rye/Atlantic No. 5 will join Michael Paley Sunday, June 8 from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m. at Garage Bar. The assemblage is to raise funds for Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign. Kids can build their own pizza, make custard sundaes, learn gardening tips and play games, while adults indulge themselves with bites from some of the city's top chefs. Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry connects kids in need to effective nutrition programs like school breakfast and summer meals, and teaches low-income families to cook healthy, affordable meals.
