Free wifi, "carrot cakelets with cream cheese icing" plus "pineapple, coconut, pecan deliciousness" are now available in Norton Commons, the "neighborhood in east Jefferson County modeled after the towns and villages of yesteryear." Open since August 1, the Meeting Street Coffeehouse has been pouring Heine Brothers' coffee along with other hot and iced beverages plus pastries "made fresh daily." Owners Kenny Hilpp and Barry Oxley told Norton Commons' PR people they are "enthusiastic about their newest venture in Norton Commons." Norton Commons' developer Charles Osborn III stated "a good coffee shop is integral to a good community, and Meeting Street Coffeehouse will provide a great atmosphere to visit with friends, relax, study or simply hang out. It will be a huge boon for the neighborhood as a whole..." The Coffeehouse is the eighth food-service establishment in Norton Commons, which has over 50 small businesses in the neighborhood.
