Here are a few upcoming food events catching Eater's attention:
· Tonight, Aug. 13, Bourbons Bistro is recognizing Wild Turkey's master distiller Jimmy Russel's 60th year in the industry by hosting a four-course Wild Turkey Bourbon dinner. The $65 per person dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m and include samplings of Wild Turkey products.
· Varanese is celebrating its seventh anniversary on August 20. From August 18 through August 21, the restaurant is offering $7 drink and appetizer specials.
· To mark their 40 year anniversary on August 20th, for one day only Mellow Mushroom will be re-introducing selections from their original 1974 menu, along with some 1974 prices. A small cheese pizza will go for only $2.50, all Coca-cola products will be 30 cents, and Budweiser, Michelob and Pabst Blue Ribbon beers will be only 75 cents per serving.
· Sibling restaurants Rye on Market and Atlantic No. 5 have started tea programs featuring teas from Red Blossom Tea Company. RYE currently has green Celadon Pearl and smoked Lapsang Souchong, while Atlantic No. 5 offers Bai Mu Dan White Peony, Celadon Pearl, Lapsang Souchong and Genmaicha, a green tea with brown rice.
