Louisville Craft Beer Week begins today and (unlike traditional, less beer-crafty seven-day calendar weeks) continues through Sept. 20. Beer cheese making, special brew releases and more will be happening at many venues around town. There's even an event at Copper & Kings Brandy distillery, where (unsurprisingly) brandy will be available.
Craft Beer Week began in 2010 according to John King, who is one of the founders of Louisvillebeer.com and executive director of the Kentucky Brewer's Guild. While King told Business First the city's craft beer business is "still somewhat of a niche," he thinks Craft Beer Week is a good way to celebrate what the city does have and give "a whole week to focus on everything local." Or nine days, but who's counting?
