An ambulance went through the front door of Ermin's Bakery and Café on Sunday, but that didn't stop customers from coming to the restaurant, which remains open for business. Debby Haynes told Business First's Caitlin Bowling on Monday the restaurant had "customers nonstop all day," using the back door entrance instead of the smashed First Street side. Haynes, who was in the building baking in the early morning hours of the accident, didn't know details of the incident, only that an ambulance on the way to a hospital collided with another vehicle and then veered into Ermin's. Haynes and her husband Bob Haynes are trying to sell Ermin's and retire, and have had people looking at the property. But for now, they're talking to contractors about repair, and informing customers there is still outdoor seating available.
