Edward Lee 'Looking at East Coast' (But Not New York City) For New Restaurant in 2015

610 Magnolia/Milkwood Chef and owner Edward Lee may be adding three more restaurants to his portfolio, and at least one of them is not in Louisville. Lee gave an extensive interview to Eater's Hillary Dixler, where he talked about his work on the PBS series "Mind of a Chef" and gave his thoughts on menu creation, chefs on television and his plans for the future. Lee tells Eater that he is developing several restaurant concepts: a restaurant in Louisville "run by the community and for the community" plus another "fun restaurant in Louisville probably by Summer of next year." In 2015, however, Lee's restaurant group is planning its first restaurant outside of Louisville. While Lee says he loves the Derby City, he admits he's "an East Coaster at heart." The Brooklyn native says his group is "looking at the East Coast, not New York City," perhaps with a view of a river. "There's something about being on the river, being near a body of water," Lee says , adding "Louisville does have a river, but it's not the same [as] when you grew up with the Hudson River as your background."
