For the first time in its 60-year history, the UCI World Elite Cyclo-cross Championships are being held outside of The Europe, when they take place this weekend in kick-ass Louisville, Ky. What's cyclo-cross? No clue. But the event's website says it's a "bike race mixed with steeplechase where racers [compete] on a course that includes pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles that require a quick dismount, running and remount." It's big in Belgium and the Netherlands. And while Louisvillians may not share a love of the sport with those folk, we do share a passion for beer. Looking for a pre- or post-race watering hole? Try these downtown-area spots. [H/T Julie S.]
